Ferrari's exotic car lineup might gain a fifth model to ride along the California T, 488, GTC4Lusso and F12 Berlinetta.

Discussing with Autocar in Geneva, Ferrari chairman, Sergio Marchionne, said that such a vehicle is still "on the drawing board", even though "zero progress" has been made since the initial announcement was made the previous year. "We'll let you know when there's something to say", commented the Ferrari boss.

To refresh your memory, Marchionne acknowledged in mid 2015 that the Dino's revival won't target a production boost, won’t launch a sub-brand and would be priced at roughly £150,000 ($210,000) or higher, becoming a mid-engined alternative for the current entry-level, the California T, with approximately 500 HP squeezed from a twin-turbo V6.

Marchionne went on to discuss a few more matters concerning Ferrari's future, stating that, even if an all-electric model is out of the question, hybrids are inevitable and will be used to increase performance.

Once again, he ruled out a direct rival for the upcoming Lamborghini Urus, which is still two years away from production, telling reporters that "You have to shoot me first!"

Concerning the firm's flagship V12 engine, he said that it's "an important part of our brand" and Ferrari won't reduce its capacity or add turbochargers.

Finally, for next year when Ferrari turns 70,  Marchionne promised to introduce "something special".
