Enugu State Police Command through its spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said it had recovered seven bags of Indian hemp weighing 50kg from a popular market in the state capital.
Amaraizu said the substance was recovered after a raid of a joint near the New Market.
He stated that the substance was recovered by operatives of Anti-Cultism Unit (ACU) last Friday,
Amaraizu added that the operatives carried out the raid in the night following intelligence report.
He stated that the command had initiated a manhunt for the dealer of the illicit substance.
In a related development, ACU also arrested two members of a syndicate alleged to be notorious for stealing tricycles in Enugu metropolis.
Amaraizu stated that the suspects confessed to have also been involved in cult activities in Enugu and its environs.
