Christian Eriksen expects to make his first appearance of the new season for Tottenham on Friday after overcoming an illness during Spurs' trip to Australia.
Tottenham will play Atletico Madrid at the MCG in their second International Champions Cup match after they lost 2-1 to Juventus on Tuesday.
Eriksen was kept in his room earlier in the week to help him recover and he wasn't involved against Juve but, speaking at a football clinic for indigenous Australians in Melbourne on Thursday, the Denmark international assured reporters he was "feeling much better" after suffering from stomach cramps.
"The plan is I'll be involved [against Atletico], yes," he said.
Eriksen was critical to Tottenham's strong Premier League campaign in 2015-16 as he notched six goals and 15 assists in 35 matches.
While Spurs eventually stuttered to finish third behind arch-rivals Arsenal after they had pushed champions Leicester City for the majority of the season, Eriksen insisted last term was a success for Tottenham as they qualified for the Champions League.
The 24-year-old declared it will be "fun" to play in the Champions League again - he tasted Europe's premier club competition while at Ajax - and is confident he can reach another level personally in the 2016-17 season.
"For every season [in England], luckily it's been going up and hopefully it will be the same for my fourth season that I keep developing and helping the squad," he said.
