Volvo's all-new XC90 SUV has just received EuroNCAP's 2015 'Best in Class' award in both Large Off-Road and Overall Performance categories.
If anybody needed further proof of just how advanced the XC90 is, in all aspects of its design, the fact that it's basically been named the safest car in its segment should make a difference for tons of people. When you're facing opposition from the likes of the new Audi Q7, BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne and so on, keeping all of them at bay is a remarkable accomplishment.
The XC90 scored 100% in the Safety Assist category and a highly impressive 97% in adult occupant protection, which directly reflects Volvo's innovative approach to further developing their safety systems.

The XC90 has been on quite a hot streak lately, with other awards received recently - namely Motor Trend's Car of the Year, the North American Truck of the Year and yet another Car of the Year recognition, this time from Auto Express.
Also, sales for the Volvo XC90 continue to outpace production capacity, which has had a considerable effect on the Swedish manufacturer's transformation from a lightweight premium contender to a heavyweight title challenger.
