Chief Olu Falae yesterday, appeared before an Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure where he testified against six people standing trial over his abduction.

Falae, who appeared before Justice Ritimi Olumide, explained that he was tortured for hours inside a thick forest where he was driven to by his kidnappers.

Falae, national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) stated he was released on the fourth day of his abduction after his family paid ransom for his release.

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation also explained that the six suspected kidnappers whom he identified in court, dragged him out of his office in his farm and took him to the bush after inflicting injuries on his body with machete.

As stated by him, the suspects later asked for his wife’s GSM number after he had been tortured, recalling that the suspects eventually established communication with his family through his wife.

Falae told the court that “when one of the kidnappers saw me and discovered that there were wounds on my body, he went to the bush to look for a leaf which he used to treat the wounds.

"That was how we started a journey which lasted 12 hours in the forest.

“One of them stated my people were offering them N2 million, how could my people offer N2 million to Boko-Haram?

"That was when I pleaded to speak with my wife and told her to look around, whether we could meet their demand.”

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), who represented the state urged the court to give the case accelerated hearing..
