A 50-year-old resident of Funtua, Katsina State, Abdullahi Sani, has been arraigned before a Katsina Senior Magistrate’s Court, over allegations of raping his three-year-old daughter of his neighbour to death.
The suspect, a father of seven, allegedly committed the crime on October 12, 2017. He was charged with culpable homicide under sections 283 and 221 of the Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, told the court that Sani lured the victim and led her to an uncompleted building, where he gagged and raped her until she died in the process.
However, the presiding Magistrate, Abdulkadir Umar, ordered that Sani should be remanded in prison custody till December 18, 2017 when the case would come up for mention.
