Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced a voluntary recall  198,380 Dodge Journeys, out of which 10,944 are located in the United States and 187,436 in Canada.
The campaign affects the 2009-2016 Journey models equipped with optional block heaters and located in extremely cold climates, due to power steering fluid lines that may leak when starting the engine, increasing the amount of effort required to steer them.

"An investigation found some lines carrying power-steering fluid may leak at engine start-up, when the vehicle is subject to extreme cold. Steering is not lost in such circumstances. However, if a vehicle is so-affected, the amount of physical effort required to steer may increase", FCA writes.

FCA has yet to announce when the recall campaign will begin or in what the fix consists of, but states that customers with questions on the subject can contact the automaker's call center at 1-800-853-1403.
