Candidates who cheat throughout examinations performed by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, now threat a five-year jail time period underneath a modification to the 2004 WAEC Act being proposed by Federal Government.
Under the proposed modification, examination malpractice will fetch five-year jail time period for offenders or the choice of N200,000 superb or each.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyat Rufai, introduced
this in Abuja on Wednesday whereas briefing State House Correspondents on the end result of the weekly FEC assembly.Rufai acknowledged.the choice of the assembly, which was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, was to "give impact to the revised conference of WAEC, 2003 in Nigeria".
