A female bomber has detonated an explosive device at the entrance of a major market in Damaturu, capital of Yobe State this morning.
The explosion has killed about 15 persons while almost 50 persons were said to have been injured and in very critical conditions.
As stated by Police Spokesman for the Yobe Command, Toyin Gbadegesin, confirmed the incident saying that men of the police command in conjunction with men of the Joint Task Force have condoned off the scene of the explosion.
The young girl had made to enter the main market but was stopped by security men who insisted on searching her before she could gain entry.
In the process of searching her, an explosive went off killing people around instantly.
