Human rights activist Femi Falana (SAN) has referred to as on the Plateau State governor to order the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of the homicide of over 86 individuals in Plateau State.
In a assertion, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria threatened to report the federal authorities and state authorities to the International Criminal Court if nothing his achieved to apprehend the killers.
Falana stated: “We want to sympathise with the federal government and folks of Plateau over the reckless and chilly homicide of 86 unarmed individuals in Razak, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashi District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.
“While appreciating the measures adopted by Your Excellency to revive legislation and order within the affected native authorities, it's excessive time that the brazen impunity of the serial murderers in Plateau State was challenged by the state authorities.
“Otherwise, the reckless killing of unarmed residents by prison gangs will not stop unabated.
“Since a group has already claimed accountability for the heinous crime, we're compelled to request Your Excellency to make use of your good workplaces to order the Police to arrest and examine the suspects.
“At the end of the investigation, the Attorney-General of Plateau State should be directed to prosecute the suspects for conspiracy and culpable homicide.”
