The former Manchester United boss believes Leicester City's key man in charge of recruitment, Steve Walsh, has had more of an impact than any player or coach
Sir Alex Ferguson claims Leicester City’s assistant manager and head of recruitment Steve Walsh has been the most influential person in the Premier League this season.
Walsh oversaw the signings of Jamie Vardy, a £1 million arrival from Fleetwood in 2012, Riyad Mahrez from Le Havre, and N’Golo Kante from Caen which have all been a major factor in Leicester City’s surprise title challenge this season.
And speaking at a Cheltenham Festival preview lunch, which The Sunday Times reported on, Ferguson claimed: “The most influential person in the Premier League has been Steve Walsh.”
The former Manchester United manager, who won 13 Premier League trophies at Old Trafford, has also tipped Leicester City to secure the title this season and believes Kante has been the division’s standout player “by a long way”.
