Federal Executive Council
The federal authorities on Wednesday accepted N185.2billion for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 14 highway initiatives throughout Nigeria.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide Femi Adesina revealed this when he briefed reporters on the end result of the weekly Federal Executive Council assembly.
Adesina briefed newsmen alongside the Ministers of Health and that of Industry, Trade and Investment, Prof. Isaac Adewole and Mr Okechukwu Enelamah respectively.
He mentioned the highway initiatives have been situated in Yobe, Adamawa, Benue, Kwara, Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Edo, Enugu, Borno, Anambra and Sokoto states.
He listed the highway initiatives to incorporate Gwoza – Damboa – Goniri – Ngamdu Road in Yobe/Borno States at the price of N34.608 billion; Mayo Belwa – Jada – Ganye – Torngo Road in Adamawa on the price of N22.699billion and Ado – Ifaki – Otun – Kwara State border in Ekiti State on the price of N6 billion.
He stated that Makurdi bridge in Benue could be repaired at the price of N4.617 billion; Ihugi – Korinya -Wuse -Ankor in Benue at N15.641 billion and Gbagi – Apa – Owode in Badagry Lagos State at N4.366 billion.
Others are the development of Ijebu Igbo – Ita Egba Owonowen in Ogun and Oyo States which might price N9.833 billion whereas N7.506billion could be spent on dualisation of Jattu – Fugar – Agenebode in Edo Phase II by Mothercat.
He mentioned the Makurdi – Gboko – Wannune – Yander Section 1 in Benue could be reconstructed at the price of N18.669 billion; Old – Enugu – Port Harcourt Road at Agbogugu – Abia border Spur would price N13.933 billion.
