The federal authorities on Wednesday scrapped award of Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificates by Polytechnics.
The resolution was reached on the Federal Executive Council (FEC) the place the approval of a complete reform of Nigeria’s tertiary training system was made.
Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, informed journalists after the weekly assembly of the council that beneath the reform measures, his ministry would proceed to license personal polytechnics and faculties of training for the award of qualification at ND and National Certificate in Education (NCE) ranges.
In impact, the award of HND can be restricted to solely the scholars at present admitted for the programmes.
