FG Still Negotiating With Boko Haram Over Leah SharibuMinister

The Federal Government has mentioned it's nonetheless negotiating with the Boko Haram terrorists over the kidnapping of Leah Sharibu from Dapchi in Yobe state.

Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed mentioned this on Wednesday, including that the Federal Government was but to resolve the problem of six out of the 111 women kidnapped from Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State on February 19.

“I think Mr. President actually addressed that issue in Washington and my position is always the same: that we are yet to resolve the issue of six girls,” he mentioned after the Federal Executive Council assembly in Abuja.

“111 women had been kidnapped, 105 had been returned and we're busy on each day foundation asking and negotiating and asking what occurred to these 5 formally not less than after which what's delaying the younger woman, Leah Sharibu.

“Negotiations with insurgents are quite tortuous and complicated at times but I can assure you we are not leaving her to her fate and those who should are daily busy working on her release.”

Asked what's torturous concerning the negotiations for the reason that terrorists launched the 111 women in broad daylight, the minister mentioned, “Anybody who negotiates with insurgents and terrorists in the world will know that is not a direct face-to-face negotiation like we are doing now.”
