The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has conferred the International Organization for Standardisation award on Risk Control Services Limited, a security consulting firm in recognition of the firm’s compliance with quality in operational standard and customer service.
Speaking while conferring the ISO award on the firm, the Director, Management Systems Certification, SON, Mrs. Oluremi Ayeni, emphasised the need for companies to embrace risk management in order to thrive in a competitive market environment.
She added that the dynamics of the modern marketplace called for risk mitigation in organizations.
"The economic challenges and the competitiveness in the marketplace make risk management a watchword for businesses. And to that extent, I am very sure that discerning companies will look in the direction of risk managers to get the required information that will strengthen their businesses," Ayeni stated.
“The NIS ISO 9001:2008 standard approach now provides Risk Control with a robust and globally recognised acceptable solution that enables it to address challenges that are associated with management quality. This will enable a consistent delivery of excellent customer service.”
In his address, the Chairman of Risk Control Services, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, observed that since Nigeria was regarded as a country of high risk by businesses, a lot of international companies seeking to conduct business in Nigeria needed trusted risk managers that could guarantee safety and security in the environment they were coming into.
“The job of the risk manager is to attend to the personal and property security and all the other areas of security that are not covered by the security provisions of the government for companies coming into Nigeria.”
