Ford announced that they will reveal a new model at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, along with new in-car technology.

Although Ford didn’t share any details about this mystery debut, Autocar reports that it could be the facelifted version of the Kuga SUV.

It certainly makes sense as Ford’s US-equivalent model, the Escape received a facelift the previous year, leaving the Kuga waiting for its turn. The facelift will bring Ford’s mid-size SUV in line with the new Edge which is about to be launched across Europe.

This implies that the updated Kuga will wear a broader, hexagonal front grille and a new front bumper to match it while the rear end will also get a similar treatment. The facelift is also expected to bring Ford’s latest gizmos inside, including the SYNC3 infotainment system and safety features like an active cruise control and forward collision warning with brake assist.

The engine range is also expected to be slightly updated in order to offer better fuel economy and less CO2 emissions.

Concerning the new in-car technology, this could be the launch of the company’s first semi-autonomous systems. In any case we’ll have to wait until February 22 when Ford’s President and CEO Mark Fields will announce himself the news in Barcelona.
