Ford says it’s “one thing to describe the capabilities and features of the all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor” and another seeing it in action, so they’re teasing us with a six-part video series.
The first episode released today takes us to the Mojave Desert where Ford says the new F-150 Raptor was “designed and tested to excel”. You can color us intrigued from the footage.

And it’s probably a good thing they released a video, since the Blue Oval hasn’t laid out all the details yet on the 2017 F-150 Raptor. For example, we still don’t know a lot about the super truck’s new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 turbo engine other than that it will have more horsepower and torque than the previous Raptor’s 411-horsepower, 434-lb.-ft. 6.2-liter V8, even though last year, the company’s Global Product Development Vice President, Raj Nair, said it will produce around 450 horses.

Other highlights include a new 10-speed automatic, the use of high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy that help shed more than 500 pounds over the previous V8 model, a redesigned suspension, terrain management technology and an available Torsen front differential that increases off-road capability further.

The new Raptor will go on sale in the third quarter of 2016 offering both a regular and a more practical SuperCrew edition.
