The 45-year-old will take charge of his 100th Barcelona game on Sunday and has the best win percentage of any recent manager of the Catalans or Real Madrid
Most Barcelona fans would have been thrilled to have been told Luis Enrique would repeat Pep Guardiola's success at the club when the former Roma coach took charge in the summer of 2014.
That the 45-year-old has not just emulated Guardiola but - so far - improved on his remarkable work at Camp Nou would have been scarcely believable 18 months ago.
As he prepares for his 100th game as a coach in Catalonia, Luis Enrique can boast the best win percentage - to go along with his clean sweep of trophies - of any recent Barcelona or Real Madrid boss.
Luis Enrique has won an astonishing 79 of his 99 matches so far for a win rate (80%) that surpasses Guardiola (71%), Jose Mourinho (73%), Carlo Ancelotti (74%) and Diego Simeone (63%).
His Barca team also leads the way in terms of goalscoring, netting 2.8 per game, and rank highly in at the other end of the pitch, trailing only Simeone among those five sought-after coaches.
