The France international struggled following a headline-grabbing loan move to Los Blancos in 2009, and has now been tasked with easing the Ayrshire outfit's relegation fears
Julien Faubert has had something of a rollercoaster career, and the France international's latest move has again raised eyebrows.
The former West Ham winger made headlines in 2009 when he completed a shock loan move to Real Madrid from the Upton Park outfit, though he only went on to make two appearances for Los Blancos.
The 32-year-old eventually left the Premier League in 2012 to join Turkish outfit Elazigspor before returning to the club where he made his name, Bordeaux, the following year.
But now Faubert is back in British football having agreed a short-term contract with Scottish Premiership outfit Kilmarnock as he became new manager Lee Clark's first signing.
The wideman previously spent a week on trial at St. Johnstone, but will now be tasked with helping the Ayrshire club pull clear of relegation trouble with them having slipped to 11th in the table.
Rugby Park is not quite the Santiago Bernabeu, but Faubert will be hoping he fairs slightly better in Scotland than he infamously did in Spain.
