The former Santos starlet has lost his way since partnering Neymar as a youngster, but he gave River's Domingo the runaround in a Copa Libertadores clash
He was supposedly destined to be the new Kaka, but the closest Paulo Henrique Ganso has come to that lofty billing is sharing the field with the great playmaker at his old stamping ground in Sao Paulo.
As a teenager Ganso burst onto the scene at Santos, and the sky appeared to be the limit for the No.10 as he unlocked defences across Brazil alongside another kid by the name of Neymar.
Injuries and a bitter row over his contract, however, held him back from making a big European move, and while his former colleague has gone on to fame and fortune with Barcelona the 26-year-old has a paltry eight Brazil caps to his name.
Those mind-boggling skills on the ball which made him one of football's hottest prospect have nevertheless not abandoned him, as poor Nicolas Domingo can attest.
The River Plate midfielder was led a merry dance by Ganso during the club's 1-1 Copa Libertadores draw on Thursday, in which the playmaker also opened the scoring with a razor-sharp volley that left Marcelo Barovero stranded in goal.
A brilliant performance was also capped by one of the finest, and certainly most outrageous, nutmegs you will see this year.
