The former Lyon manager believes he could lead the struggling Villans to a repeat of the Foxes' heroics at the end of the last campaign and keep the club in the Premier League
Remi Garde sees no reason why Aston Villa can't emulate Leicester's efforts at the end of last season and race towards Premier League survival.
The struggling Villans appear to be destined for the Championship as they sit nine points adrift of 17th-placed Sunderland with as many games left to go.
Rock-bottom Villa have only managed to win three matches all season but although such form indicates putting together a run towards safety looks unlikely, Garde refuses to believe it can't be done.
Leicester managed to steer away from the foot of the table by losing one of their last nine games in 2014/15 and Garde reckons Villa can do the same.
"If you look at Leicester's case last season, they started a run of seven wins, one draw and one defeat," he said. "Why couldn't we do that?
"Yes we have just shown poor football at times in previous games. But in football you never know how things can go.
"I still strongly believe we can win many games before the end of the season."
Next up for Villa is a clash against second-placed Tottenham at Villa Park on Sunday, while difficult away trips to Manchester United and Arsenal also lie ahead for them.
But despite suffering a heavy baptism of fire as a manager in England, Garde says his love for the game hasn't been diminished by his spell as Villa manager.
"I love football. In life and in your football career, it's not only about good moments," he added.
"I have had some very good moments. In that time I knew that probably I would have more difficult moments.
"I try to stay the same. Sometimes in football you have good results but you know the next season or two seasons later you can be in a completely different situation.
"I had the same behaviour when I was more successful that I was now.
"It's all about keeping the faith and staying balanced - not to be too much disturbed by criticism or praise. This is the way I am."
