Newly appointed commissioners in Gombe State, northeast region of Nigeria have been urged to run the affairs of their various ministries with the fear of God.
Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, at the inauguration and swearing-in of the commissioners, urged them to take cognisance of the current economic situation in discharging their duties as members of the executive arm of government.
This comes 12 months after the election of the Governor for a second term in office.
Dankwambo expressed hope that the new appointees’ wealth of experience would greatly help in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He also enjoined civil servants in the state to support the commissioners as the state looks inward to improve on its internally generated revenue.
Taking the oath of office, the commissioners pledged their allegiance to serve the state diligently and uphold the constitutional responsibility bestowed on them.
Most of the commissioners served with the Governor during his first term in office.
The event which held at the banquet hall of government house in Gombe, witnessed a large turnout of politicians, traditional rulers and members of the public.
