Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state has reacted to reports of him defecting from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Governor of Lagos State described the report of his planned defection to the main n opposition as false.
Ambode’s reaction was disclosed on Twitter on Sunday by Ahmad Bashir, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media.
Citing a newspaper report, Ahmad quoted the as saying he was not planning to defect.
The report claimed that the Governor of Lagos State was planning to defect from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“I told Gov. @AkinwunmiAmbode of Lagos State that @LeadersNG and some other media platforms have been spreading fake news that he’s planning to leave the APC, he smiled and said Bashir if they don’t know tell them I am here in Beijing in President @MBuhari’s entourage”.
