Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has appointed a 72-year-old illiterate farmer, Olatunde Afolayan, as the caretaker chairman of Moba local government.
This Day reports that Fayose also swore in members of the State Independent Electoral Commission, headed by Justice Kayode Bamisile, a retired Chief Judge of the state.
After administering the oaths on the appointees, Fayose again called on President Muhammadu Buhari to remove Amina Zakari as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission. He also urged the president to be equitable in appointing the national electoral commissioners.
Apart from Afolayan, the governor appointed Omolara Bayode Ayeni and Owolabi Ajewole as superintendents of Ikole and Ijero councils respectively.
On Friday, August 28, Fayose took to his official Twitter handle to explain why he appointed an illiterate farmer as the caretaker chairman of LGA.
If you are a Professor or Puruntu, it does not matter. I have appointed a farmer as Caretaker Chairman of Moba LG.

A governor of uncommon style will always get uncommon victories. I Will therefore keep on with my uncommon ways of doing things.
