okorocha, Kano KillingThe Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, says he has received with rude shock and utmost dismay, the news of the murder of one Mrs Bridget Agbaheme who hails from Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

Governor Okorocha, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemodo, described the killing as very unfortunate and the height of recklessness on the part of the perpetrators.

The Governor called on all relevant security agencies in Kano State to leave no stone unturned in carrying out thorough investigation into the murder and also stop at nothing to bring those who carried out the murder to book.

The Governor has also appealed to Imo indigenes in Kano State to remain calm to enable law enforcement agents do their job by carrying out the needed investigation into the matter and also take the necessary actions.

President Muhammadu Buhari has also promised that justice would be done in the matter, and urged the people not to take the law into their hands.

He stated this in a statement on Saturday while condoling with the husband of the deceased, Pastor Mike Agbahime, the family and relations.

The President commended the law enforcement agents for apprehending the prime suspect behind the killing, as well as the Kano State government, which summoned a meeting of Christian and Islamic leaders, widower of the deceased, and security agencies, as soon as the sad event occurred.

President Muhammadu Buhari described as sad and regrettable the developments that led to the killing of Mrs Bridget Agbahime.

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two persons suspected to have participated in the murder of a 75-year-old trader stated to have been beheaded at Kofar Wambai market in Kano State, North West Nigeria.

Addressing journalists on the issue, the Police Commissioner, Maigari Dikko, confirmed the murder and the arrests but denied earlier report that the woman was beheaded.
