Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson
Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson has announced the death of his mother, GoldCoast Dickson after a long battle with cancer.
The deceased was said to have passed away at the age of 72.
Dickson made this known in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Francis Ottah-Agbo on Thursday.
As stated by the statement, GoldCoast died of cancer at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas.
The Governor appreciated the hospital, “especially the team of medical professionals who did their best” to save his mother’s life.
He also appreciated, “family members, friends, political associates and Nigerians generally for their prayers and support in the most trying times for the Dickson’s family.”
Until GoldCoast passed on, the statement said she was “a quintessential mother, a devout Christian and community leader who devoted her lifetime to the service of God and humanity.”
The statement revealed that funeral details would be announced by the family at a later date.
