Prime Minister Theresa May has mentioned she's going to "always regret" not assembly the residents of Grenfell Tower within the rapid aftermath of the catastrophe.
Writing within the Evening Standard, Mrs May mentioned she understood her actions might have made it seem she "didn't care".
Ahead of Thursday's one-year anniversary, she mentioned she needed to clarify that was "never the case".
A complete of 72 individuals died as a results of the blaze, the judge-led inquiry into the fireplace has mentioned.
This contains Maria Del Pilar Burton, 74, who died in January. She had been in hospital since she was rescued from the 19th ground.
Mrs May mentioned it was "clear" that the preliminary response to the catastrophe was "not good enough", including: "I include myself in that."
She continued: "What I didn't do on that first go to was meet the residents and survivors who had escaped the blaze.
"But the residents of Grenfell Tower wanted to know that these in energy recognised and understood their despair.
"And I will always regret that by not meeting them that day, it seemed as though I didn't care."
