The Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) on Monday confirmed that a jailbreak has occured at Minna Medium Security Prison.
The spokesperson of the jail service in Niger state, Rabiu Shuaibu, mentioned the incident occurred on Sunday on the jail, which is in Tunga space of Minna Metropolis.
Two individuals had been killed within the means of the jailbreak.
“The unlucky incident was perpetrated by armed criminals who attacked the jail and gained entry after a trade of fireplace with jail armed males.
“This led to the death of a prison officer and an Okada rider who convey a prison officer on night duty,” Shuaibu mentioned.
