Spanish police are looking for a young man who abandoned his lover in a well after she accidentally fell in during a bout of al fresco lovemaking. The couple met on Friday night in Ciudad Real, a city in Castilla-La Mancha region of central Spain at a park where young people gather for outdoor drinking parties known as “el botellon”. They found a quiet corner in the park to have s3x but did not realise that their movements had dislodged a waterwheel well shaft cover and the woman, named locally as Edelia Aponte, 21, tumbled through the gap. In a rather ungallant move, the as yet unnamed man fled, leaving her trapped in the ten metre hole where she remained shivering in water for half an hour before firefighters pulled her, half naked, from the well shaft. Miss Aponte was treated at the local hospital for hypothermia and shock and was discharged the next morning. It is thought that her companion made the anonymous call alerting police to the incident but did not stick around to see the rescue. Police are now searching for Miss Aponte’s companion who could be charged with failing to provide assistance to someone in need. Authorities have also warned local youths to be careful when partying in the park where there are a number of similar well shafts. “It could have ended in tragedy,” said Leni Portillo, spokesman of the local fire service. “Luckily, the woman could swim and she wasn’t knocked out in the fall.”
