Sadio Mane netted a 94th-minute winner as Liverpool again got the better of Everton in the Merseyside derby, but it was another star in red who garnered the most plaudits.
Daniel Sturridge's bold, aggressive run at and into the Everton defence allowed him the opportunity to hit the post from the edge of the area, meaning his wait for a Premier League goal this season continues but was the focus of the post-match celebrations.
Liverpool have now beaten Everton four times in the Premier League with goals in the 90th minute or later, twice as many as any other opponent, and for fans of the red side of Merseyside it was throughly deserved.
Unfortunately those in blue only had one name to vent their ire at...
Tough for Everton to take but Liverpool far superior in the 2nd half.

Everybody's talking about Mane, for me, Sturridge is the one who saved us tonight.

KOEMAN OUT NOW WORST 2ND HALF IVE EVER SEEN
— Michael O'Neill (@Mickbelfast10) December 19, 2016
Where was Mirallas. Lennon clearly told to defend, never got forward. Awful set up / tactics #KoemanOut

I reckon Koeman was browsing the net for xmas holidays at half time. #koemanout

We're worse off now than under Martinez in my opinion. RK has had zero impact in 7 months. He has to go. #koemanout
