Currently, Hennessey Performance is developing a number of different tuning packages for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350/GT350R, with one having over 1000 hp on offer.

Most of Hennessey's upgrades for the track-focused muscle car start with supercharging the insane-sounding 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V8 and producing a minimum of 808 hp with the appropriately named HPE800 package. Of course, installing a supercharger onto this great naturally-aspirated engine changes its driving characteristics so for GT350/R customers wanting to maintain the standard car's feel, a more restrained kit has been announced.

Hennessey's HPE575 package manages to produce 575 hp at 7,700 rpm and 511 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm, compared to the 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of the standard model. Rather than supercharging the V8, the additional power has been achieved thanks to stainless steel long-tube headers, a stainless exhaust mid-pipe and high-flow catalytic converters.

The performance upgrades are then completed with an ECU upgrade.

Other special components included in the HPE575 package are custom badges, serial-numbered plaques in the interior and engine bay and a serial-numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by John Hennessey.

Just 100 units of the HPE575 will be produced for the 2016 model year, each priced at $6,950 with a 3 year warranty.
