It doesn’t need a motoring buff to comprehend the heritage lines present on Porsche’s newest 991 range, yet these renders depict exactly how closely related the new model is to its predecessors.
When designing a new car, most car makers keep some essential style cues from the previous generations in order to better emphasize the vehicle’s traits and provenance.

At Porsche things are pretty clear from the very beginning, as the German company kept the 911’s lines pretty much the same since its introduction in 1963 and the glacial evolution is obvious when you put them all togeter.

With the help of a few computer generated images, graphic designer Bo Zolland showed that it takes only a few add-ons to take the brand-new 991 at least 53 years into the past.

With lines and subtle accessories taken from the 356 B and original 911, the retro-conversion kit, previewed on a Targa model, consists of a redesigned front fascia, with the added hood handle, Fuchs wheels, and a slightly new rear-end (complemented by a windshield wiper).

For now, the kit remains in virtual form, but the Swedish designer is reportedly analyzing potential interest. However, a similar body-kit created by Bo Zolland is available through Custom Concepts – a company which offers 2.7 Carrera RS outfits for the 996 and 997.
