Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s criticism of Goodluck Jonathan led to the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, says chief of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, Edwin Clark.
Buhari beat then-incumbent Jonathan Clark stated Obasanjo’s sudden fondness of Buhari was stunning.
“My disagreement with him is that he alleged that some people are corrupt and I know that he is also corrupt. He was one of those who made President Muhammadu Buhari to win in the last election by condemning the former President (Goodluck Jonathan), who he also made President”, Clark advised Punch.
“He made him (Jonathan) governor due to his hatred for Alamieyeseigha. He (Obasanjo) made Jonathan vp and contributed to his turning into President.
“So, I don’t know what went mistaken. Jonathan turned like someone that was carrying leprosy and due to that, Obasanjo began abusing the Ijaw.
“Obasanjo remains to be my buddy. We have all the time been very pleasant. Recently, someone stated we are going to meet. I'm prepared to fulfill with him at any time.
“He is not my enemy. When he says things that are true, I praise him. When he says things that are bad, I condemn him. That is politics.”
