Nassarawa State Governor, Tank Al-Makura
Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has stated that he won't sponsor any candidate as his successor in 2019.
Al-Makura said this on Saturday when Permanent Secretaries and Chairmen of the 13 Local Government Areas paid him a Sallah homage in Lafia.
He stated that although he was not going to sponsor any candidate, the state wanted somebody that will keep the prevailing legacy.
“But in supporting anybody, I will probably be very very cautious in doing so and I will achieve this with none sentiment.
“So, all those contesting would be scrutinised to make sure we have the best that would continue to work towards maintaining peace and progress in the state,” he additionally mentioned.
The governor challenged the council chairmen to be prudent in managing the assets of their respective areas.
He defined that Nasarawa State, beneath his management, has performed the second LG polls in his seventh 12 months in workplace.
“We are among the few states in the country to conduct our second LG election.”
He stated that was as a result of he a lot believed in democracy.
