The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the dismissal of the three inspectors involved in the unauthorized search of the home of elder statesman, Edwin Clark.

Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

Moshood in a statement explained that the IGP has approved the dismissal of Insprs. Godwin Musa, Sada Abubakar and Yabo Paul from the service “for the unauthorised, illegal and unprofessional misconduct in the search of the residence of Chief Edwin Clark in Asokoro, Abuja.”

he also stated that ASP David Dominic who led the operation had been queried and was being investigated for discreditable conduct, negligence of duty and act unbecoming of a police officer.

Moshood hinted that the ASP too may be dismissed.

The IGP had on Tuesday denied his involvement in the raid of Clark’s residence and immediately ordered the detention of the police officers involved in the raid.

Also, the police paraded a man suspected to be the informant in the search of the home of the elder statesmen and the IGP sent a delegation of top officers to visit Clark and apologize for the incident.
