In a renewed effort to rid the country of crime and criminal activities, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase has donated 15 patrol vehicles to the Kano State police command to bolster security and protect lives and properties of the citizens. The IGP pointed out that with the proactive efforts by the federal government in taking firm decision on security nationwide, particularly the measures to nip the ongoing insurgency ravaging some states in the bud, most of the terrorist enclaves had been destroyed and the insurgents routed out, stressing that the fleeing insurgents would be mixing with the general public to wreck havoc on innocent law abiding citizens. Arase therefore stressed the issue of vigilance which should be of paramount-importance in the minds of the people of Kano, given the tendency of taking the peace loving people of the state off-guard, affirming that keeping a constant vigil on the movement of strange faces would help in no small measure. Receiving the keys of the vehicles, Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, expressed appreciation to the IGP for listing the state as his priority in the fight against crime, describing the intervention by the police boss as timely and had come at a time of great security challenges, added that the vehicles would serve as a morale-booster to officers and men scouting the nooks and crannies of the metropolis. Governor Ganduje then announced the intention of his administration in complementing the efforts of the IGP by assisting the state command with more vehicles to help fight crimes in the state. He also explained that his administration is holding security agencies in high esteem considering their efforts in discharging their professional responsibility, stressing however, they needed huge support to move forward.
