Pupils of Straight Gate Academy, Lagos, yesterday donated N300,000 to Boko Haram-ravaged states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
Each of the three states was given a cheque of N100,000 as support for the upkeep of displaced children in the state.
Speaker Yakubu Dogara announced the donation from the pupils when he recognised some of their schoolmates who were in the chambers of the House of Representatives on excursion to the National Assembly.
Dogara commended the school children for remembering other kids in distress. He stated theirs was an act of kindness that is worthy of celebration and emulation.
Also acknowledging them, lawmakers gave the young donors a standing ovation.
