An investigation has been launched by authorities after the body of an 11-year-old girl was tragically discovered in a park located in Elmley Castle, Worcestershire. The discovery was made shortly after she had been reported missing to the police.

The young girl was reported missing at approximately 11:20 pm yesterday evening, Sunday, October 4, 2026. A short time later, her body was found in the vicinity of the cricket ground within Elmley Castle park. West Mercia Police have confirmed that, at this preliminary stage, her death is being treated as "unexplained."
A spokesperson for the police force issued a statement, confirming the ongoing investigation:
"An investigation has been launched after the body of an 11-year-old girl was found in Elmley Castle, Worcestershire. The girl was reported missing at around 11:20 pm yesterday evening (Sunday 4 October) and was later found deceased in the park near the cricket ground."
