The appearance of a stretched version of Audi’s current A8 limousine with six-doors on European roads this week raises more questions than answers.
For all we know at this point, it could turn out to be a custom creation from a private company, however, our spies did notice that it was carrying Ingolstadt test plates, something that has them pondering if Audi is working on such a model.
If that’s the case, it could be anything from a state vehicle for Chancellor Angela Merkel to a limited production model for the current generation A8 or even a test mule for a Maybach rival from the all-new A8 that will come into the limelight sometime in 2017.
We’ll leave it at that for now, however, we’ll see if we can dig up some more information and pass it along.
