map-ondoThe Industrial Training Fund (ITF), established in 1971, has trained over 2,000 youths in Ondo State in the last two years. The Akure Area Manager of the Fund, Mr. Temitayo Salami stated the step is an effort in building human capital towards industrial development of the state.

Salami, during a sensitization visit to the leaders of the Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industrialist (NASSI), led by its Chairman, Comrade Akintunde Greatsheyi in Akure, stated the Fund would partner with the association to make its aim achievable.

He said: “The main thrust of ITF programmes and services is to stimulate human performance, improve productivity, and induce value-added production in industry and commerce. The Fund also builds capacity for graduates and youths for self-employment.”

Responding, Greatsheyi lauded the efforts of ITF in nation building, saying that NASSI would be happy to collaborate with ITF because both parties share the same vision concerning human capital development. He stated small-scale industries if properly handled would bring economic development to the country as a whole.
