The member representing Kaga/Magumeri/Gubio Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mohammed Ngamdu Sanda has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s insistence on seeing the details of 2016 Appropriation Bill, which was passed by both Chambers of the National Assembly, before signing it.
Ngamdu stated it was needless “developing belly ache because Mr. President insisted on seeing details of budget” before signing it, as it was a normal practice the world over.
Speaking with Famzn News in Abuja on Tuesday, the lawmaker maintained that it will amount to absurdity on the part of government to be pressured into doing things abnormally by those who had been benefitting from the system through corrupt means.
“Nigerians should ask how the federal government has generated over N3trillion through TSA regime, which would have ended in private pockets, as was the usual tradition in the past”, he noted.
Speaking on Calabar-Lagos Rail project, which is currently generating controversy, he stressed that the leadership of the National Assembly and the Executive could find a way out instead of blame game.
He recalled that in the past, President Goodluck Jonathan had to return the budget to the National Assembly for correction when it was discovered that there were errors.
