Few hours after the discharge of a well-liked lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, an outstanding conventional ruler has been kidnapped in Udo Kingdom, very near Benin City in Edo state.
Patrick Ekhorutomwen Igbinidu, theIyase of Udo was kidnapped on Wednesday by some masked gunmen at his palace.
Sources on the Iyase's Palace stated on Thursday that the monarch was kidnapped by some armed fierce wanting younger males.
They stated the Iyase was taking part in the sport of draught in his palace when he was kidnapped and pushed away in an Audi automotive to an unknown vacation spot at about 6 p.m. on September 11.
The sources stated Igbinedu is the elder brother of one of many wives of the Oba of Benin, Solomon Erediauwa.
Confirming the report, the Chairman of Ovia South-West Local Government Area, Mr Morrison Oggunrobe-Ovia, stated the council was working with the police in Iguobazuwa, the executive headquarters of the council, to safe the discharge of the normal ruler.
As acknowledged by Oggunrobe-Ovia, the abductors are but to make any ransom demand.
