Looks like Jaguar is already developing a smaller crossover before the new F-Pace officially hits the market.

The camouflaged prototype looks tons like a Range Rover Evoque, however, that is just a trick to cover up the development of the "baby" SUV.Look closely and you’ll notice a slightly longer wheelbase and wider tracks. Our spies actually checked the plates with the UK authorities, only to find out that the vehicle in question is indeed registered as a Jaguar.

JLR is known to use mules as they did exactly the same with the F-Pace becase it allows them to test the chassis, engine, cooling and more before risking revealing any of the new model’s design. Speaking of which, we expect Jaguar to keep things familiar as they did with the rest of their range, with the E-Pace styled in the same language with the bigger F-Pace.

Using an Evoque could also mean that Jaguar’s new crossover will share the same platform with the popular Range Rover instead of a scaled down version of the F-Pace aluminum underpinning.

The compact Jaguar crossover will be revealed in late 2017, with the market launch expected in 2018.
