Jennifer Lopez Granted Restraining Order Against Stalker As She 'fears For Safety Of Herself And Her Twins'

Jennifer Lopez was granted a temporary restraining order on Wednesday, requiring an individual to stay at least 100 yards away from her and her family.

The former American Idol judge, 47, filed court documents prior to being granted the order that alleged Timothy McLanahan has not only followed her from Los Angeles to Vegas, but also been arrested for showing up to her LA home and trespassing, according to a report by TMZ.

Her filing claimed she feared for herself and her two eight-year-old children.

A statement from JLo's bodyguard included in the documents alleges that McLanahan has previously been arrested for firearms violations and threats.

Apparently this person has also attended the performer's shows and sent her unsolicited mail and flowers, according to TMZ's description of the documents.

In addition, the bodyguard reportedly claimed McLanahan is not a resident of the area, calling him 'transient.'

Perhaps the fashion designer will be able to sleep easier tonight, knowing the alleged behaviors of this man have been documented and she has at least some recourse against further unexpected encounters with him.

Lopez posted a photo earlier Wednesday, appearing at ease with a soft smile and her head leaned against her hand, resting by the elbow on what appeared to be a table covered in a white cloth.

'Noches amores [lips emoji],' she wrote, which translates to 'Night loves' in English.

The temporary resolution of this legal matter comes as things continue to heat up between Lopez and her latest flame, 30-year-old Drake.

The Las Vegas resident performer was spotted on New Year's Eve wearing Champagne Papi's gold chain, as he performed for guests ringing in the year at Hakassan Nightclub in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.

Her musician beau has been spotted previously wearing a matching chain with friends. The two singers are currently working on new music together.
