The declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day is justice completed to the late Moshood Abiola, in keeping with the Methodist Archbishop of Abuja Most Rev. Oche Job.
President Muhammadu Buhari had final week altered the Democracy Day from May 29th to June 12 in honour of Abiola, the adjudged winner of the 1993 presidential ballot, who was on Tuesday invested with a nationwide award.
“Look, he gave his life that the nation will stand. We must agree that Abiola, apart from being a generous man, a well-to-do, blessed by God, that he wanted to rule the nation and bring it to a level that every one of us will appreciate,” the cleric added.
“Unfortunately, he nearly won the election, because they didn’t allow Humphrey Nwosu to declare him the winner.”
As acknowledged by him, “Immediately the counting was occurring and all people was glued to the tv set, all of a sudden, Babangida got here on board and mentioned nothing goes to be introduced.
“So Abiola wherever he's proper now, he shall be rejoicing that justice has been completed; and his relations the identical as a result of his spouse additionally died that approach.
