Juventus are now hot favourites to sign Santos wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa, as Chelsea's interest cools in the young striking sensation.
Having been linked closely to the 19-year-old, the Premier League side are yet to make a formal offer for his services. Juve directors trust that a bid will not be forthcoming from Stamford Bridge, leaving them clear to negotiate a €20 million deal for the Brazil Olympic forward.
The Italian champions plan to convince 'Gabigol' with a lucrative contract offer. The teenager will receive a contract proposal worth €3m a year, far higher than the €820,000 plus bonuses offered by Santos if he signs an extension until 2021.
"The president has spoken [about renewing] but there is nothing certain yet. There are issues to work out, I have offers," Barbosa told reporters following Tuesday's clash with Palmeiras.
"It is not certain that I will sign at Santos, no."
At just 19 the forward has broken into the Brazil team in recent months and is one of the stars of a Santos side that is fighting for the Brazilian Championship, having scored four goals so far this season as the Peixe sit in fourth.r />
