The spokesperson for the President Muhammadu Buhari re-election marketing campaign, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has accused members of the Peoples Democratic Party of not pondering straight.
Keyamo made this comment in response to a purported clampdown on the opposition party by the federal authorities.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria acknowledged that the party had misplaced the sympathy of Nigerians due to its ”sins.”
Speaking to Punch, Keyamo mentioned: “They did it to individuals and they also assume others will even do it. That is why you may see that they've written letters to the United Nations, crying to excessive heaven that some individuals wish to rig elections.
“That was precisely what they did, so they're already assuming — and it's simply a fallacious assumption — that others will do what they did too.
“You can see that's the reason they aren't getting the sympathy of Nigerians as a result of the individuals know that they (PDP members) are crying foul.
“So, on the difficulty of clampdown on the opposition, that's a navy time period. It doesn't apply and it'll by no means apply in a democratic setting resembling this.
