Festus Keyamo, Director of Strategic Communications for President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization has called on religious leaders to stick to “bridge-building role.”
Keyamo who lamented that some religious leaders in Nigeria have now turned themselves into “power brokers,” warned them to stray from spilling hate messages.
As stated by him, such messages would cause tension in the country as the 2019 election inches closer.
“Instead of sticking to their original role of bridge-builders in society, some leaders of religious & tribal groups have strayed far into politics that they now see themselves as power brokers,” Keyamo wrote on his Twitter handle over the weekend.
“Let’s remind them of their original role by shunning their hateful political messages.”
