Today, King Charles opened up about his battle with cancer during a visit to Bradford, where he met with a former patient.
The 76-year-old monarch, who received his diagnosis last February after a procedure at a London hospital for an enlarged prostate, shared insights about his treatment journey that has spanned approximately 15 months.
While celebrating Bradford's "City of Culture" status alongside Queen Camilla, he engaged in a warm conversation with florist Safeena Khan, who recounted their exchange: "He asked me how I was, and I asked him how he was. There was some pleasantries towards the end, but it was a lovely conversation."
Ms. Khan noted that the King responded with a 'thumbs up' when she inquired about his outpatient care, to which he remarked, "I’d like to think I’m on the better side (of my Cancer journey)."
The monarch added: ‘I’d like to think I’m on the better side (of my cancer journey).’
What Kind Of Cancer Is King Charles Diagnosed With?
The specific type of cancer affecting King Charles has not been revealed by the palace, nor have the details of his treatment.
Buckingham Palace previously stated, "No further details are being shared at this stage, except to confirm that His Majesty does not have prostate cancer."
As Prince of Wales, Charles supported numerous cancer charities and decided to disclose his diagnosis to reduce speculation and enhance public awareness for those impacted by cancer globally, according to palace officials.
The location of his treatment and whether it is at an NHS or private facility remains unconfirmed.
In March, he was hospitalized for a short time due to side effects from his cancer treatment. Palace officials did not elaborate on the specific side effects, only stating that they necessitated a brief hospital observation and that he is doing well.
This incident did not significantly disrupt the king's increasingly active schedule, as he has undertaken numerous trips both abroad and within the country in recent months.
