The governorship candidate of Peoples Party of Nigeria, (PPN), Dr Ojuh Hussein, yesterday received a royal blessing from the Attah Igala and the president of Kogi State council of traditional rulers, Dr Michael Ameh Oboni, The Sun reports.
The PPN candidate who was in the palace of the Attah in Idah on a courtesy visit solicited for the support of the royal father in actualising his ambition, saying God has so much blessed Kogi State with various resources that the state has no business being poor.
He stated if elected, he would make Kogi a hub of tourism activities as he will convert the 1,500 ft mount Patti to a money spinning venture where tourists will be conveyed to the mountain top through cable transport.
Dr Hussein while mentioning his area of focus, stated if elected, he would give top priority to mechanized farming and convert Lokoja, the state capital to a buying and selling centre in the North central geopolitical area where every commodity will be massively produced and sold to members of the public at very subsidized rates.
The governorship hopeful who stated past administrations in the state have failed the people, wondered why the Attah’s palace can still not favorably compete with palaces of traditional rulers of his status in other states in terms of aesthetic design and facilities.
“It is sad that 24 years after the creation of the state, no administration has deemed it fit to give a face lift to your palace, but I pledge that if elected, within my first 100 days in office, I will renovate the palace and give it the beauty that befits your status,” he also stated br /> Responding, the Attah Igala thanked the governorship candidate for deeming it fit to pay him a courtesy call and prayed that God will give him the desires of his heart.
He also called on his subjects not to under mine any political party since they were all recognized and registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He however told the PPN candidate to conduct himself and his followers in a peaceful way through their campaign activities.
